Official GL.iNet firmware — vendor CDN only

GL.iNet travel routers show up on coaches as a compact 4G/5G or WAN box. We are not a GL.iNet partner. Firmware comes from dl.gl-inet.com for that exact model. Vendor OpenWrt-based images are not the same support path as flashing upstream OpenWrt from openwrt.org.

When to use GL.iNet’s image vs something else

Stay on vendor firmware

If the router is doing its job and you need a published fix, use GL.iNet’s CDN and app for that SKU. Confirm model and revision on the label. Wrong image bricks the unit.

Do not call it Peplink

GL.iNet multi-WAN is not Hot Failover, Bonding, or Smoothing. When a coach needs a named SpeedFusion mode and InControl, that is a Peplink conversation.

Upstream OpenWrt is a different job

Replacing vendor firmware with upstream OpenWrt is a brick-risk and a warranty path of its own. We do not redistribute proprietary “OpenWrt-derived” vendor binaries.
